The Draw

Sorry I'm late. I think the technical term is System Overheat! Boy. It's soo warm here, my mind goes ·>pouff<·!! early afternoon, and won't go back to normal until the next morning. A few hours of normal, and ·>pouff<·!! again. But not complaining ... we like warm and sunny (please stay, Mr. Sun, a few weeks longer).

So. The Draw. Using random.org, I listed participants in the order they had come in (1-7) and Random picked number ... ta-daaa; 6: Tiny Red. Congrats :-)

Sunshine

The weather is huuugely satisfying, and with rasberry-pineapple-softdrink in one hand, book I'm gonna do the cover for in the other, I dare say all Tuesdays should be like this.
Like if that wouldn't cut'it, I ordered a stack of deliciousness from Amazon. Yum!

Saturday's knitting for premature babies was a great success. The café was loaded with knitters, and being a semi-fast knitter, I made 0.8 bonnet there, and the rest when I got back (and then I couldn't stop of course—I'm on my 3rd now).

Very busy with work. But then colours and doing without thinking wanted to come out-come out. (hence the »don't know why«)
This Saturday is World Wide Knit In Public Day. Isn't that funny? Will I be out there, knitting in public? Oh yeah! I'm attending a charity event where we'll be knitting baby bonnets for the hospital.

well, not today-day, the day before yesterday, actually.

Finished Hemlock

Most relaxing, curling up in the corner of the sofa with needles and yarn. Or knitting in the car on long drives. I always have several projects knitting — some are good for watching movies I have seen before, but want to see again. Some are good for knitty company, and some are good for absolute mind-relaxation. Like Hemlock here. Difficultlevel high enough to engage all of my concentration, leaving no room for stress, speculation or planning ahead. Just me and the wool and the chart I work by. I have no idea what to do with the blanket. It's really too small to be a blanket, too big to be a pillow, and more about process than product.

The originator of this pattern is one of the most inspiring Knit-bloggers I know of; Brooklyntweed. Amazingly talented, inspiring and sharing! You can find many beauutiful, free patterns there.

Another letter in the alphabet (larger). Here we have also been swimming a bit these last two days—in sparkling spring rain.
Some movie stuff: Wonderful Mansuetude linked to a stunning (I can not emphasize this enough -- please see it) animated film; The distance from the moon.
Althea Crome knits mini-mini-miniature clothing, and she made the clothing for the dolls in the upcoming movie Coraline. Man! This is good stuff. This really great story is written by Neil Gaiman (super cool), and the movie is directed by Nightmare-Before-XMas-director Henry Selick. Doesn't get any better. Goooood stuff.

Glimpses

I saw a child, holding his Grandmother's hand this morning, on their way into the park. A woman was squatting by a giant flowerbed of daffodils, taking their picture. The sun was warm. And we needed milk.
This is life, isn't it? In a glimpse and a glimpse and a glimpse. No need, really, to judge "good" or "bad", "important" "not important". I'm happy, I was paying attention today.

Reasons

Brick by carefully handpicked brick, I am building this new company of mine, and one brick has been making a website portfolio. I didn't know how to build websites, and with reference to the watercolour buttons, it's fair to say I broke several on this one.
I has taken me a while, evenings, weekends and nights, so it wouldn't interfere with my "day-time" job ;-)
Which is also the reason I have been a less active blogger than I like to be. I miss blogging, when I can't. Miss visiting, miss chatting, seeing, experiencing. And that reminds me of how thankful I am, to have all this within my grasp. Thank you.

We welcomed this little table into the family this weekend. Alas—found in a container—cold and a little damp, but perfect! none·the·less. I love her little feet, and the wavy curve of her legs. We tried on different flowers today. And a pair of buttons:-)

Meeouw ...

I have said it before–and I'll say it again. And again. And again. I Love The World Wide Web. And I love blogging. Last week I found these at Bakeralla. (Mine aren't as perfect in shape nor in color, but the birthday girl was thrilled - and that was the aim.) I ended up spending the whole evening with Bakerella–she makes the cooooolest cakes and candies.
I didn't follow the recipe, but found some kittyface-shaped candies at the store.
Another Grrreat reason for raving over this thing we're doing, is this: GoodReads. I leaned about it via wonderful Gracia.

Lovely Salvia

Making macarons and asking questions ...

Light as an angels' breath, these sweet little treats. With a little inspiration originally from La Durée, and fellow bloggers Cannelle and UseRealButter, I added some, took some out and ended up with my own. ( I let them sit too long in the oven, though, so they got a slight tan from the oven heat + the batter was aliiittle too thick—but other than that ... ;-) I will know this till next batch (and there will be a next batch. And a next. And a next :-)

I have a question today: Can you take the chance of a lifetime, and still play it safe ...?

BOY! This was a challenge. There was light there was dark — circles — perspective ... I swear I broke a sweat! :-) It's been ages since I watercoloured. But I like a good challenge, and I'm quite excited about this little reunion with my ol' WN box :-) (I will take its picture tomorrow—it's pitch black out now.

I fell in love yesterday, browsing though Anahata's shop PaPaYa!. Wauw. And take a look at where she lives. I mean this is everyday view for that gal. AMAzing :-)
