Of Thankfulness ..

The other page :-) The text is a mix of sentences from the lecture I spoke of last post.

I promised you strawberries and raspberries. Rich and tasty. I feel thankful for this life, with its warm summers and red berries. I mean — I could be a fly! Or ... — I dunno. Just feel really thankful for being me.

Yester-evening I met with Elsebeth; she is so sweet and wise, and awesomely creative. She made these amazing purses, and look the present she gave me ...

— I love it :-)

Just discovered iHanna. Huuugely inspiring. Love her inspiration-tiles

My dearest, dearest Diary

Dear Diary,
Are you well? Feeling a bit overlooked, perhaps? I wouldn't blame you ...

It has been a while since my last Diary-post. It puzzles me. I l♥ve making them, and feel so inspired when I see Genines calendar pages. Or Anahatas journal pages. I really don't know why I don't make them more often. I have considered if I should decrease my number of creative activities :-) Perhaps go ALL journal-paging! ... Naahh --- I don't think I could. Oh well -- shouldn't try to figure this out so close to a holiday. Perhaps everything with be clear as morning dew once I am well rested.
I made two pages this time - will share the other soon, along with strawberries and rasberries :-)

Meanwhile, I recommend test: What Type Are You? (I was Cooper Black Italic ;-)
via Periwinklebloom (found via SmallMagazine, which I absolutely love. New issue is out now).

Take care. See you soon :-)

Under cover still

It snowed again last night. The world insists on being in b&w. It's so funny visiting Geninne or Gracia, whom's worlds are in colour this time of year. Ours will be in colour again when the time comes. For now, I'm enjoying the cold light and crispness.

Do you know Neil Gaiman? He's one of my favorite authors, and recently I stumbled 'cross this adorable little interview his 10-year old daughter made with him. Sometimes in interviews, if you listen real good, you can hear the slight distance the interviewed places between him (or her) and the interviewer (which I totally understand. Must be hard to be expected to turn yourself inside out, because you wrote a book, made a piece of art or).
But you can't do that with your child. Don't want to, I quess. This interview is full of love and smile and un-distance. Made me so happy.

Remember; you can still participate in the big Scraps give-away.
*Monday will be last chance to enter*.
Thanks to all who have entered so far :)
...
On October 8th, Herta Müller received this year's Nobel Prize in Literature. I am reading her 1986 novel Der Mensch ist ein groβer Fasan auf der Welt (»Man is a great pheasant in the world«), in English published as The Passport, and I have a feeling I'll be reading it many times and again ...
I am overthrown by this poetic, quiet, amazing, frightening little book, so unlike anything I have read. An excerpt and a photo.

Yellow Sponge Philosophy (in NaturesOwnColours™)

1. Dear Diary

2. Reminiscence of July

3. Everlasting Love of Hama. (Considering a little shop—this might make its way there)

This entire post was kindda inspired by an episode of Spongebob Squarepants.
The Idiot Box. Spongebob and Patrick buy a huge TV, only so they can use the giant cardboard box to play in, using their Imaginaaaation. Eleven minutes to be appreciated on many levels :)
Happy Monday. Please remember to enjoy it in Colour.

Dear Diary

The Dear Diary project is so much about process. It is so important for me that I challenge myself, and the Diary is a playground in which I can feel free.
However, ambition and everlasting judging play here too, and sometimes, when a Diary page goes -- since there's no wrong here, then -- off!, dark skies gather over the premises :-) I liked this spread better a good three or four stages ago. But then green paint entered, and ... well—Process.

Flipping back through the book, shows me exactly when I have been feeling creatively relaxed, and when I've been struggeling. There are days when I'd had liked all pages to be perfect, but that's no Diary. My book is, in this way, very honest, raw and tells the story of a process. Ups and downs. Flow and no. And green paint where there should have been none ...
Best of weekends to you.
Before you go :·) Great stuff at Poppytalk Handmade (via LeiLiLaLoo)

October 12th/ IF:Strings

Blogging is like travelling, don't you find? Last night I went on a long and adventurous journey, and today I have lots of links.
Cool typographic image at Mike Perrys. And super cute kitchen towel at Orange You Lucky.—Then I got into an orbit of textile and softee-works; so much sweet stuff at wee wonderfuls, which led me on to good vibes at Oh Happy Days. This reminded me of super-cool Copenhagen shop; Crème de la Crème à la Edgar—she is sooo talented. And well, then I had to visit Three Potato Four—more awesome stuff. And check out this Llama at Lamadesigns.
Now I just wanna drag my sewing maschine out from the closet ;)

How is your Sunday?

Unimportant important

Sometimes, littlest things can be so big. I had so many little things today, my chest almost can't hold it. Wonderful, insignificant and overwhelming. —I looked for this song for (I'm not kidding you) 19 years, and today it found me. I listened to it, and it was no big deal, but my heart laughed. Things like this. All day.
Heard this (below) on the radio. You be the judge of its littleness/greatness :-)

I send you happiness, for the weekend to come.

Amazing

I'm speachless! Partly because it was that good, partly because my voice is reduced from all the screaming, woohouuing and singing last night. His final concert of his 25live World Tour, and I was there, jumping, dancing, laughing and clapping my hands together for two hours straight, completely exhillerated.
GEORGE MICHAEL -- YOU KING OF POP, YOU!
It was an awesome show. After 27 years, he sooo still got it. Groovy, funky can't-sit-down-gotta-move-got it. Thank you, B, for calling, M for buying, and H for jumping-singing next to me. And thank you, GM, for stepping off the posters of my mid-80's pink teenageroom-walls to grant me this beautiful experience.

Thank you for your words - and link - on my previous post. Bunny sends her love and appreciation - she feels very welcome :) And Rina; thank you for tagging me - I will post my randomness shortly :) I wish you all a glorious Sunday:)) Ev'rybody - C'mon -- waaiiii. Oups - sorry - concert-vibes still in me.

Dear (hopelessly neglected) Diary :)

Well. I'm not making the page a day I set out to make. The idea was neat, but now, seven months after lift-off, I must acknowledge - I'm not that kind of person. I don't have the diciplin nor the stamina to stick to one media for one whole year. I cannot knit a handbag of my Diary. And I cannot read my beloved fantasy novels in it. (The Diary base is a Rome Beadeker (guide book) from 1908 ;-) In German :-D) And making a "quicky", just so it's done, isn't my game either.
But I have had stings of sticky guilty conscience from time to time, because I started out with the idea of posting every day. I let go of that. Rules are: there are no rules.

So. Ok. Felt like making a page in the Diary last night. Not a self portrait. She looks a little sad, and I am not:)) Nope. You're looking at one happy gal here. Wishing you the best and sunniest weekend.

Did you know that Julia Pott has a blog? She is the awesome artist behind the so so sweet and beautiful animation My First Crush.

July 10th/ The dark tale of The Rose

:)) I don't know how she came to. I like working like this. It isn't a real story though. Feel free to tell me how you think it should go :)

June 29th/ IF: Fierce

... as in "this is one fierce colour for a wall".
Now it's the new colour of my hall. I have had white walls in the whole appartment for a decade, and I was in need for a change.
Also part of Dear Diary.
