Slowly

Went for a long walk yesterday, and through the rose garden. It is such a delightful place.
...
Still doing close to nothing, and enjoying it to pieces.

Went pinning (one can always go pinning) yesterday, and fell in love with
These Quiet Blues— the collection of Brittish algea from the archives of The New Yourk Public Library. Here's an overview. And here's a sample. You can start here, and use the arrows to continue. I get lost in these.
A quiet tune to go with it? May I recommend Tom?

Soft and Stretchy Friday

I'm not that good with a sewing machine, but I have one – my mom's old faithful – and what I don't have in skills, I will usually muster in patience (as long as I stick to pretty simple projects).

I spent the entire day today measuring, cutting, pinning and sewing to make this pair of soft and stretchy kids' pants. It's been a year, I think, since I made something serious like this, and I'd forgotten how wonderful it is to get lost in this process.

Would like to go see Joan Miró at Tate Modern

Wish you a nice and relaxing weekend :)

Greetings from a Strawberry Field

Weekend time with mellowness and crossword puzzles in the sun. Today we took to a strawberry field, where we picked our own strawberries, and bought fresh onions and new potatoes. Just dosn't get any more summer-y for me than this.

Sweetness and sunshine to all!

Not-Quite-So-Insane Pillow Case

A while ago I bumped into the fabulous Insanity Blanket via Pinterest, and subsequently couldn't get the little colorful stash-squares out of my head. Before I knew it, this (above) emmerged from little balls of left-over yarn. Will I go for the Insanity Blanket? Alas—no. I shall settle for the smaller, less insane pillow case version instead. I have not the yarn stash nor the endurance for that insanely huuuge (but oh-so-gorgeous) blankie.

I'm lazy today—please see this post for links to blanket and "how-to".
Wish you a delightful weekend :-)

new office supplies (and a book cover)

Yesterday I realized that my new office lacked supplies! Today, I have new pencils, a highly educational pencil sharpener, overliner, correction tape and Post-Its!
...Nothing beats the smell of fresh Post-Its ... Here; try:

Hmmm :-) Smells office-y, eh?
:-)

Made a book cover for a poetry book (a blues-poem, roughly translated: Tell Me An Underground Tree, Pronounced By The Wind) by Danish poet Marianne Larsen.
A couple of years ago, I made the cover for her previous poetry collection Særskilte stillinger, (Separate Positions), and this new cover had to have the same sort of style or feel.

Water for Copenhageners

We had the most amazing thunder storm here yesterday. For hours, thunder rolled and for a while it roared right above our heads. And lots of water fell.
This morning many were busy emptying their basements of water, and overseeing the damages it had made. In our building the damages were minimal. We were lucky.

I sent out the give-away packages this weekend. One to USA, one to Australia and one to Canada. Had to add a tax mark describing the content, and asked the post office lady if the recipiants risked paying tax then?? She didn't know. Oh I hope not. That would be odd - receiving a gift, but having to pay for it.

I hope you had a pleasant weekend. And wish you a smooth Monday ;o)

Love this handset for mobile phones from Davis Turpin :-) So funny

A new place

I have moved my work place to a shared office in another part of town. I am closer to the city now, and right next to the canals of Christianshavn, in a really great neighbourhood. It's so nice to have colleages (or sort-of-colleagues—each of us being selfemployed), and they are all so kind and sweet and funny.

This is my corner of the studio, and the view from where I sit

... the yard:

and my right-next-door-neighbour. I love that tower. And here are tourists taking a tour on the canal (wearing matching rain covers :)
I'm thrilled that I'll be seeing water every day.

Can't wait to go to work again :o)

Autocorrects just crack me up! Been reading a lot lately, and laughing so much. Here are a few: adopted, living room color, a LOT of apple sauce

a delightful meeting

Saturday, I met with Olaya and David of Studio Duermevela in Madrid, who was visiting Copenhagen. This was the first time I've ever real-time blogger-met, and what a delightful meeting!

:-) Thank you guys, for a sweet time, and for the beautiful books (above). I hope you enjoyed the marked, and got to the shops before they closed :-)) e-see you soon.

Winds of Change

These past few days, Rain, Thunder and Lightning've been puttting on a grand show in the skies above Copenhagen. Monday was warm, and ended in a hot-tempered roar.
Feels like a deep sigh after holding ones breath.

All day the news announced the "cloudburst"'s coming, so when I felt the wind change, I sat on my balcony to enjoy the show. First the air turned blue, purple, the birds sounded different, and the breeze came, and smelled oceany. Then sturdy clouds rolled in over us, and changed the world for a little while

This photo of mine really doesn't do this justice, but I couldn't help myself. When lightning came, my trigger-reflexes were way too slow :-)
I found a beautiful gallery here.

The Winds of Change are also upon me in my little company. Though I shall wait to say more until after I move
...
woups! said it anyway ;-)))

Obsessed a little bit over this "Insanity Blanket" by misplacedpom after having spotted this image on Pinterest yesterday. In case I "needed" another knitting project (hargh-hargh). Then made three squares ...

A weekend of enjoyment

This weekend has been full of relaxation and enjoyment. So wonderful, that I almost forgot to take pictures.
But I do have two ...

the begginning of my new succulent adventure :-),

and the beginning of a new knitting project. I've been in love with Kathleen Kelly's light-as-air cardi since I first saw it (see the You've Got Mail clip here), and finally started to make it. Since I have no recipe, I shall make it my own, with slight alterations (ie have tiny silver beads on the front, and no buttons. I think).

Hope your weekend is wonderful and sunny.
No links today. Only sunshine :-)

Sunday thoughts, and past week's to-doings

Hello :-)
It's been a while.
What have you been up to?

In this part of town there's been
work, and in between ...

making necklaces...

beading our new door sign ...

... knitting, and relaxing
—and I went to see The King's Speech (at the cinema, which is a big deal for me ;-)

There hasn't been much blogging. Alas. Not time for everything.

Oh yes, another thing I've been doing, is a bit of internet-shopping. For the longest time, I have had Keri Smith's Nonplanner Datebook on my wish list, and last week I found a European website which carried it, and I ordered it right away. Can't wait to flip throught its pages!

What is your best online buy ever?
I'll have to think about mine ...

Still plenty of time to enter giveaway :-)

Mellow Ms Madeleine

New music just in! :-) It's soothing—late Sunday breakfeast—softness and slow pace. Yes, Ms Madeleine Peyroux danced herself into my ♥ with this:

(and yup--, it's a real plastic cd! ;-) Call me ol'fashioned—I like having the booklet, and the case and... Yeah, I know!)

This stuff jumped me Saturday! And I spend the day making necklaces.
I'll post pictures later. Gotta go work now :o)

Do you feel lucky, punk??!!

YES!
I do. I feel very very very lucky.
My friend brought me rhubarb yesterday (before our walk). And a recipe.
Yum! So good.

And the earrings! Yes. Here they are. I really love them.

and this post...

IS MY POST NUMB#R 500!!

A lot on my mind(heart) indeed. Over the years.
I want to celebrate with a giveaway, and I have gathered emphera for collages, some postcards and likes, and I want to giveaway a couple of our books »Scraps« too.

Because I am forever thankful. For what we do here in blog-world. For being part of this—of sharing and chatting and playing and inspiring, giving and receiving. Makes my heart jump with joy, makes me want to stand on roof-tops screeaaming: I FEEL SO LUUUUUCKYYYYY! I am in constant awe of all the beauty, the wisdom, the sweetness, the presence ...
I could go on, but I think you catch my drift ;-)

So with rhubarb still sweet in my tummy, and a beautiful evening waiting ahead (with infinite possibilities), I bid you

Happy Thursday

and hope to see you Saturday, where I shall launch the giveaway, with pictures, and I think there will be confetti too

xo

(much on mind) Part Two

but before I do...
I have to mention these two ladies I met Saturday on a Spring Fair in Odense:

Blåmejsen
who - among much other stuff - makes these awesome dougnuts!!! Baby rattle, felt kitchen toy, pin cushion. And downright lovely:

Doughnuts made by Blåmejsen

and
Jack Of All Arts
who makes vintage jewelry. I purchased a pair of Barbie shoes earrings from her (which I'll have to post later, since it's evening and light is travelling elsewhere).

All this great stuff is made by
Rie

I have to do this in parts ...

... because I have so much on my mind and I really should be working, not blogging, and and and ...
Usually, I happilly accept the fact that I have 24 h a day. It's a lot, when you think about it, and planning will get one far. But today I'm not standing quite so strong.

So. I think I'd like an extension. Please.

I haven't decided if it should be an extended day, week or even month. Just know that there are all these faboulous things I want to make, and do and see and read and listen to, and I can't seem to find enough time forrit all!
You could argue that I should choose, but you wouldn't, if you knew just how wonderful stuff we're talkin' about here.
... the big mini-hama name tag for the front door
... the first season of The Wire
... the Nikos Kazantzakis book I borrowed (thank you for the inspiration, M)
... the John Irving
... the Gangaji
... the Chopra
... the artjournalling I'm yearning to do
the magazine, the yarn, the cross stitch cushion, the illustrated postcards, the blogs the music the audio books the pins the art the company the ...

The weird thing is; this might stress me out completely. But doesn't. I'd just really like to (all-of-the-above).

Had coffee with my good friend this afternoon. We sat by the pond. Walked and talked. And watched the peacock act out, then settle down. Wonder if he'd like more time to do cross stitch ...

I really have to work now ...

Rest of the yoga images

Hello and happy Thursday. :-) Wishing you sunshine and smiles, lollies and laughter.

Got a lotta work, so I haven't been blogging for a week now :-(
I miss it. I hope to be visiting soon.

I hope you are well
