May 27th/ IF: Worry

A sketch for a collage. I hope I will make it later, but the rest of this week holds no time for it. I won't worry about it, though ;)

If only I could post smell ...

- I would ask you to smell these. Rosemary, sage, three different kinds of peppermint, lavender and curry plant. I bury my nose in them and breathe in :)
More on my food blog - I hope to see you there. (The amazing weather we have here calls for outdoor activity, so pen, paper and alikes take a slumber these days).

May 17th

As some of you might know, I like to cook. I don't have any formal training or anything, I just like it for the fun, relaxation and savour. Yesterday I started a food-blog; Christine's Kitchen. It doesn't look much yet, but I hope to fill it up with recipes and food ideas, tips, and lots of photos. Feel free to take a peek:))

And todays Diary doodle (somewhat inspired by yesterdays preoccupation:)

Childhood on a string

I found a pile of hønseringe at today's local fleemarked. Did you have these when you were a child? What did you call them?
We collected and swapped them. The S'es, C's and 8's were among the most common – I had completely forgotten about the skeletons, the locks, the owls and the keys. How I loved them.
I have an idea for an illustration with them, and some might also make a nice pair of earrings. Or maybe one of you guys would be up for a swap ;-)
Hard afternoon light and shadow on the balcony.

Old stuff

I went over some old cds last night, and stumbled across old illos that never made it pass the printer. This is one of them.
I made a little series back then, some of them were printet as free-cards and distributed on cafées in Copenhagen. Maybe I will post them later. Or make some new ones:)

Thank you for the kind words and sunny wishes yesterday. I had a great, relaxing day. Hope you did too:)

** aahhhh **

I have taken the day off. I put a chicken over for later, and now I will go sit in the sun - it's the best weather here.
Perhaps I'll read, perhaps I'll do a little needlepoint. Perhaps I will just close my eyes and enjoy the silence ...

May 6th

The actual weather forecast from last night. Feels like summer:)
Gracia Haby has a really beautiful blog - she makes wonderful collages:)

Inspired by Mansuetudes thoughts today, I want to share a slice of my day;) Today, I visited my old school (for the first time since I graduated) and it was an extremely powerful experience. You know that movie-trick when the camera zooms in as the camerawagon is pulled back fast? It's usually during a portrait scene and feels like -woouuscchh-. Looking into my old class rooms, I felt like that. Everything came roaring at me - sounds, voices, smells, feelings, moods -- and walking on, eyes off the room, it was gone. Breathtaking.

For the love of Magnolias

I love Magnolias. These are the minutes to enjoy the flowers of this magnificent tree. In a matter of days, they will have fallen to the ground.

Beautiful stuff to stumble across: Paul Beelen jewelry (via Cally Creates), El blog de Alicia. And I don't remember if I linked to Amy Ross before, but her stuff is a·w·e·s·o·m·e!; also here and here. Very beautiful Flor de Papel, via Eddy and Edwina.

Today, being the last day of April, is also last chance of entering the

April 28th / IF: Wrinkles

("There lives a grand old lady in the wrinkles on my hand
She smiles at me from time to time,
her giggles dry as sand
She holds my gaze, and in her eyes I see the endless time

Alas – the grand old lady's eyes
– they look a bit like mine"

April 10th

I'm a little busy these days, so I haven't had much time to sit by the computer, and visit you guys. Or to make more than a quick sketch for the Diary. The weekend has time in store for me. I'll see you then:)
Have a wonderful day

April 8th// Illustration Friday: Save

Actually, I don't quite understand myself on this one.
Most of these Dear Diary-pages are done without thinking too much, just letting the pen and brush work, doing the first thing that comes to mind. So ... now fish want to be saved?! From ...? The water? ('cause no one asked them, if this was where they wanted to live?) From the pollusion? The seagull? Your guess is as good as mine. Really ;)
Don't forget to participate in the **April Guessing Contest** :))

April 4th/ IF: Homage

... to the little things. The cup of coffee that tastes so good, you have to close your eyes. The perfect shape of a raindrop on the window glass. The stranger on the street, who smiles at you ...
...
Will you tell me your favourite little thing?
